My computer's AC adaptor is being a pain and sometimes acting like it's not plugged in. Which happened before and I bought a new one, not that long ago. I could buy yet another AC adaptor, but my computer is also annoying me with how slow it is. I tried to do a bit of work stuff this morning (our software is online) and it made my appreciate how powerful my work computer is, even thought it takes 20 minutes to turn on and be usable. I can't open any links in Tumblr - it used to be ok and then Tumblr would put other posts you might like on the same page and that killed it. I open them on my iPod, which is much quicker. So a new computer is on the cards. And as much as I hate setting them up, doing it while the old one is still alive is much easier. Even though I like the KDE flavour of Linux, which is designed to be as hard as possible to set up.
My hamster thinks that chewing things is the way to get out of the back door. My back door mat has plastic spokes and she's been chewing them off. And then she started on the mat itself. And then she started on the laminate floor in the corner by the back door.
Although she doesn't chew cables, she was obsessed with the Sky cable. But that was easily fixed by chopping it off and filling the hole in the wall with Polyfilla. I now have a cable going from a satellite and ending in the wall, but if someone later buys this house and decides they want Sky that's their problem.
That was fine, the router cable was not. She had a couple of evenings of being really interested in the wall it was plugged into - presumably my neighbour was doing something she could hear and I couldn't and she wanted to get the other side of the wall. She was mostly trying to climb the wall, but also chewed the router cable. I thought I'd got to it before she could make a hole in it, but then my internet went down... I now have a new cable.
And then she got in the sofa. I'd noticed it wasn't looking great - I've had it about seven years and it was second hand and looking a bit worn when I got it, so that's not unexpected. But she found the bottom had come away and would have happily spent all evening in the sofa. When she finally came out I moved something in the way. I have now velcroed it up. Since one day I'd like to move I'm hoping the sofa will last until that day, since I might end up wanting one that's a different size.
So that was my week. You wouldn't believe that Missy has plenty of toys (I currently have bits of egg box around the floor) but of course chewing the house is more fun.
