Yuletide 2022 letter

General likes: Stories that feel like a piece of canon, stories that make me laugh, stories that make me cry, stories that give me warm fuzzy feelings, banter, friendship, time travel, what if AUs, unusual formats (eg epistolary, IF, five things etc) as well as the usual formats
General DNWs: Levels of sex/language/violence that would be out of place in the original, non-canonical permanent character death of any regular characters, setting change AUs
I am open to treats.
Quantum Leap 1989 (Sam & Al)
Specific DNW for this request: Sam/Al shippiness, post-Mirror Image setting (aside from the new timeline)
One of my favourite things about this series is the relationship between Sam and Al, so I'd like to see something that explores that - but keeping it just to friendship please. I'd love to see them working together to solve a problem, each doing what they're best at. If you'd like an idea for a leap, then I'd love to see something you know about - one of the great things about Quantum Leap has been how much I've learnt about cultures, places and recent history.
I'd like to see what the alternate Quantum Leap looks like, after Sam's fixed Al's life. In the new time line the project clearly still happens, despite Al being married. How does he manage family life with being there for Sam? Does he talk about his daughters with Sam a lot on leaps (in the way he used to talk about his wives)? Feel free to come up with a new leap, or use an existing one and show how it's changed.
Quantum Leap 2022 (Ben)
Feel free to not have Ben as the main character in the fic - I picked him mainly because when I thought of all the things I wanted to see, they included him.
The project was up and running for quite a long time before Ben leaps. I'd like to see a fic set during that time. Maybe at the beginning when they're all getting to know each other. Or when Ben and Addison realise their feelings for each other and get together. Do they try and keep their relationship secret? Or have they both confided in one co-worker (maybe it's the same co-worker)? Or a time when Ben is the peacemaker between everyone.
Or how about Ben leaping into Magic? Maybe before or after Sam does. How does that play out back at the project? How does Magic feel about it? What does he remember about that time? Does Ben even remember Magic?
I'm also interested in everything that happens in the Imaging Chamber being recorded. Is there ever a time when Addison has that in the back of her mind when she's talking to Ben? Is there a time when Ben leaps into a situation that someone else at the project has a lot of knowledge about, so they're helping while watching live? Or is there a time when someone watches a recording later and notices something important/interesting that no one noticed earlier?
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (Pike)
Specific DNW for this request: Whole thing being all about Pike's future (mentions are fine)
I have asked for this for Trick or Treat and Star Trek Holidays, both of which reveal after Yuletide sign ups close. You can never have too much Pike, so don't worry about potentially writing the same thing I might receive for either of those exchanges.
I like Pike and his easy-going nature and the fun relationship he has with his crew. I also like how he takes every death personally and I do love Pike angst. I like how he's close to Number One and relies on her for advice. And how close he is to Spock and how they'd basically die for each other. And how he and Ortegas have a shorthand when it comes to flying.
But it would also be interesting to see him with characters we haven't seen him spend a lot of time with, like Chapel, for instance. Trap them somewhere, have one of them injured. How do they get on? Does she find out about his future? Does he find out about her feelings for Spock?
I've seen all of the Star Treks, except for Prodigy, Lower Decks and Discovery from series 3 onwards.
Superman & Lois (Clark)
Specific DNW for this request: Jonathan with powers
One of the things I really like about this series is Clark and how he juggles his time between being Superman and being a good dad. Especially when he has one son with superpowers and one without. I'd love to see more of him and his relationship with his family. Is it suddenly so much easier after the boys know his secret?
Or how does he connect with the people in Smallville he knew from growing up there? He's obviously been back to visit, but how does his relationship with them change once he's living there full time? Are there other farmers there that he speaks to about farming and getting the Kent farm up and running again?
Or it would be good to see the contrast between a massive crisis Superman has helped with and a small family drama that is tiny in comparison, but not for the participants.
I don't really know any other aspect of the Superman lore, but don't let that stop you from including any of that, as long as you're aware that it will be a bit lost on me.
